Cyces has bought Looppanel, an AI-powered UX research platform, with the stated goal of building what the companies call "agentic UX research."

The deal, reported by Dealroom, moves a tool that automates parts of the research workflow — transcription, analysis, and synthesis of user interviews — under new ownership. For research practitioners, the acquisition signals where vendor roadmaps are heading: toward software agents that execute research tasks end to end rather than assist with them.

What does the acquisition change?

Looppanel built its product around a familiar pain point. Teams record usability sessions and interviews, then spend hours transcribing, tagging, and grouping observations before any insight reaches a stakeholder. The platform applied machine learning to compress that pipeline, and its user base consisted of UX teams trying to shorten the distance between raw session recordings and shareable findings.

Agentic research extends this pattern one step further. Instead of a human researcher operating the tool at each stage, an agent plans the analysis, pulls the quotes, and assembles the report on its own schedule. The buyer, Cyces, framed the acquisition around exactly this ambition: software that conducts research work rather than merely accelerating it.

For practitioners, the open question is division of labor. If an agent drafts the findings document, the researcher's role shifts toward question design, sampling decisions, and validation of what the machine claims to have found. That shift has a measurable consequence: the skills that determine research quality move earlier in the process, into what gets asked and who gets recruited.

Why consolidation matters for tool buyers

Acquisitions in research tooling tend to follow one of two paths. The acquired product integrates into a larger platform and loses its standalone roadmap, or it continues independently with added capital and an expanded scope. Which path Looppanel takes will show in three practical markers for current users:

  • whether existing pricing and seat structures survive the transition;
  • whether the analysis features remain available without buying a broader Cyces bundle;
  • how quickly agentic capabilities appear in the product, and whether they run by default or require explicit opt-in.

Teams that have built their workflows around Looppanel's interview analysis will want migration terms confirmed before any interface changes ship. Vendors under new ownership rarely freeze the interface for long.

The direction of travel

The term "agentic UX research" places this deal inside a broader movement across design tooling, where vendors are moving from AI assistance inside existing workflows to AI execution of the workflows themselves. The acquisition gives Cyces both a working analysis engine and an installed base of research teams to build that next layer against. Whether the result shortens the path from session recording to decision-grade insight, or simply relocates the researcher's effort to prompt supervision, will become clear as the integrated product reaches users.
